I've got ten minutes, so here we go ... and let me preface this by saying some taxes are necessary ... Police, Fire, etc.
Why can't people who work hard to create something new in this economy and earn some money in trying times keep what they make? I don't understand this. Why are people punished when they create jobs and strengthen our economy? It drives me insane. Certain people say they want to help the middle class. They'll do this by raising taxes for those making over $250k. Now let's see ... I have a business (and at this point, the scenario where I make $250k is purely hypothetical), I can hire another employee, but I'm not quite sure whether it's going to work right now. But wait ... my taxes go up ... I'm already on the fence about whether it's time to bring someone else in, what am I going to do? I'm going to pay the taxes and get by without an additional employee. That is one less middle class job in the community (let's remember - I've got a VERY YOUNG company that develops websites, minimally I'm going to be starting someone at, say, $50k) and my small business suffers that much more. This is shit. People don't get as good of a product from me because I'm spending too much on more taxes rather than more employees, I don't get as much business, and there are less people employed in these trying times. What the fuck? Do people really think that raising taxes when the economy is shit is really going to fix anything? Do people really think that they have a right to steal someone's hard-earned cash just because they make $250k? Do people really think it's so evil to employ someone at the going rate? It's Capitalist. It's supply and demand. The employer needs services from the employee. The employer is willing to pay a certain amount, the employee is willing to provide these services for said amount ... they come to a mutual agreement. Good stuff. What happens when the employer starts treating the employee like shit? One of two things: employee cries and says they need soemone to come in and protect them from the big, mean employer or the employee wises up and takes some individual responsiblity and finds an employer who will treat them better. I've done it. I've switched jobs because I didn't like how I was being treated. I've gotten paid shit and found someone who is more fair. I've made my own economy. It can be hard work, but it's really not all that complicated. Sick of the economy? This is America ... nobobdy's going to starve unless they practically try to. Fail. Learn. Apply. Repeat and you'll start to see that there are less and less failures and more and more successes. Adapt. It's a great country with a great Constitution and some great founding fathers. Let's not stray any farther from that. Shit.
Rant over.
